And we really only have a week until summer vacation. Then I can be at home with her until we go back to school in August. I bet I can convince my mom to watch her. We definitely can’t afford daycare. At least not right now.

At least we have the summer. I’ll work my ass off. See if Burt will give me some extra shifts. Clean some pools if I have to. Earn us some money. Means if we need to we can afford a sitter if we’re stuck.

*frowns* But then we’re not going to see you at all.

Awww I love your soft side. The doctor said we get to take her home tomorrow. I can’t wait to put her in her own crib and sleep in our own bed. Well…lay in our own bed. Who knows how much sleep we’ll be getting now.

Yeah, well. Only you two get to see my soft side. -grins, pressing a quick kiss to her cheek- I can’t wait to get out of this hospital. Finally get home as a family. But who knows? Maybe she’ll be like me in that sense and also like sleeping.

I really hope she does but I’m not counting on it. As long as I can get a couple hours of sleep before my finals I should be okay. What are we going to do when we have to go to school?

Well, my mom will help out when she can, and my nana. And maybe your mom. We’ll manage. Somehow we will.

*rests her head on his shoulder and starts to run a finger over Beth’s tiny hand.* Well she must get that from her daddy because he’s pretty tough too.

-resting his head against hers, he smiled gently, staring down at his daughter- I might be tough, but I think she’s going to turn me into a right softie.

We don’t do anything, because apparently I have no say in this. So just go back to mommy. The decision has quite obviously been made already.

I’m talking to you now about this aren’t I ? I want us to stay with you. I want us to be a family but I want to make sure we do what’s best for Beth. I think it’s best if she’s with both of her parents and that she has insurance.you know how many check ups there are in the first year, how many shots. We can’t afford that.
